Objectives and Fields of Activity

Objectives:

  • Conduct research, development, and organizational studies related to distance education for all academic and administrative units within the university.

  • Support the delivery of courses through distance education methods and the development of distance education applications, while also engaging in strategic planning related to distance education.

  • Promote the advancement of scientific research, assess and analyze the distance education needs of public and private sector institutions, propose programs, develop them, and ensure their implementation.

  • Transfer knowledge related to distance education to relevant institutions and organizations, establish administrative, financial, and technical principles for achieving these objectives, develop projects, organize scientific meetings, and publish periodical and/or non-periodical materials on the subject.

Fields of Activity:

  • Conduct research and development activities on distance education.

  • Encourage, support, and facilitate education, training, research, and applications related to distance education, ensuring that public institutions, private organizations, and individuals benefit from these initiatives.

  • Plan scientific and technological research on distance education, develop strategies, and, when necessary, implement and promote applications in line with the Center’s objectives.

  • Develop software, automation systems, and course content required for both internal and external university projects, conduct accreditations, provide consultancy services, and ensure necessary coordination.

  • Carry out or propose scientific and technological research to expand educational opportunities via e-learning, contributing to the country’s development and progress in the transition to an information society.

  • Define content and educational programs, and determine credit systems for courses, seminars, conferences, and programs delivered through distance education.

  • Issue certificates, participation documents, course completion certificates, and similar credentials based on the type of education and training. Establish, regulate, and implement procedures for enrollment, admission, examinations, assessment, and course completion. Additionally, assign faculty members, ensure collaboration, and facilitate coordination.

  • Utilize or contribute to the development of laboratories, libraries, smart classrooms, lecture halls, studios, and other educational facilities across all university units for distance education purposes.

  • Plan the education and training of non-thesis distance education master’s programs within the university and ensure their effective coordination and implementation.
